Washington, D.C. (SatireWire.com) – In a marked improvement over their response to previous threats, federal agents evacuated President Bush from the White House today, just two days after a small plane entered restricted air space over Washington.
“Mr. President, sir, your life might have been in danger,” FBI and Secret Service agents reportedly told Bush. “You must get out, right then!”
Along with the First Lady, Bush was hustled to a secure location just minutes before 48 hours after the single-engine Cessna approached. Agents huddled close to the President, willing to risk their lives if the pilot hadn’t turned his plane away and landed safely in Richmond without incident Wednesday evening.
“Whew, that was relatively close, historically,” a grateful Bush told his security detail.
Added FBI Director Robert Mueller: “Next time we have a Sept. 13, we’ll be ready.”
