Islamabad, Pakistan (SatireWire.com) – High-ranking Taliban official Sohail Shaheen challenged the United States to launch a major ground assault on his country on Friday, insisting that “15 or 20 (U.S.) troops will be able to do nothing. If they want to send in soldiers, they should send in 100,000!”
Shaheen, the spokesman for the Taliban embassy in Islamabad, later admitted he issued the dare after betting $2,500 with a London bookmaker that the United States would defeat the Afghani regime.
After the incident, Shaheen was replaced as spokesman by Abdul Sadar Husef, who said sending 15 or 20 troops would be just fine.
